What types of canine obedience training do you offer?

-From puppy obedience training to preparing your dog for advanced specialty dog training, Centre County Dog Training is one of the most comprehensive dog training schools in Pennsylvania's Centre Region.
We offer basic dog training, such as:

  1. Puppy Obedience Training
  2. Shy or Aggressive Dog Training
  3. Adult Dog Obedience Training
  4. Deaf Dog Training
  5. Blind Dog Training
  6. Dog Behavioral Issues (ie:biting,jumping,barking,leash pulling,etc)

Where do you provide canine obedience training?

-Our professional dog training covers many types of canine obedience courses in your choice of location, including:

-Private, At-Home Dog Training (serving Central Pennsylvania) - Our professional dog trainer will come to a location of your choice, or your home. Please contact us for more information.

-Dog Training Camp Sessions- Your dog will reside in a local trainer’s home with one or more other dogs. All will undergo professional dog training geared specifically to each animal’s needs.

-Group Dog Obedience Classes- Held at local public parks, dogs train in small groups with classes focusing on specific areas of need.

How does the canine obedience class differ from your other dog training classes?

-There are three types of dog training classes from which to choose:

  1. Canine Obedience Class- A group session consisting of many different types of dogs, these classes are held outdoors at a local park and teach your dog basic obedience skills.
  2. At-Home Dog Training- Done in the privacy of your home or office, a professional dog trainer will come to your location on a regular basis and devote the time needed to properly train your dog.
  3. Dog Training Camp- An overnight canine obedience training camp designed for dogs of all breeds and ages. Upon graduation, your dog will be well-behaved and ready for domestic living.

When should my dog begin puppy obedience training?

-The earlier you begin training your puppy, the better. For best results, we recommend dog owners start puppy obedience training as early as 16 weeks (four months) after the dog’s birth. Additionally, we can help you build a foundation at home and take preventative measures which will make the puppy obedience training go smoother even before your dog arrives.

What is the cutoff age for older dog house training?

-Successful older dog house training depends on the breed and personality of the dog. Contact us for more information about adult dog training and to set up an appointment for a free demonstration and dog evaluation.

Does your dog training address biting problems?

-Absolutely, Centre County Dog Training is part of dog training basics, such as biting, barking, jumping, running away, and other dog behavioral issues.

What is involved in advanced dog obedience preparatory training?

-Specialized companies offer advanced classes to dogs that have completed basic canine obedience training and whose owners wish for them to progress to more specific areas of dog training, such as search and rescue, hunting, agility, protection, therapy, and more. Centre County Dog Training adequately prepares your dog for advanced specialized training.

How long does the canine training process typically take?

-As humans take approximately three weeks to create new habits, dogs take twice as long, depending on the breed, personality, and other factors. In general, most dogs can be trained in a period of six weeks
